The editorial team at Digiteo, an independent publication covering digital marketing and small business management, is led by Hugo Marceau, editor-in-chief (pen name). Editor-in-chief of Digiteo (pen name). Dated, data-backed and sourced guides for small businesses.

How an article comes together

  1. The question: we start from what readers are actually trying to figure out, not from a keyword.
  2. The research: official documentation from tools and platforms, published studies, hands-on testing when possible.
  3. The writing: a direct answer up front, then the details, the numbers and the limits.
  4. The review: figures, links and sources are checked before publication.
  5. The update: articles are revisited when a platform, a price or a rule changes.

The sources we rely on

In order of preference: official texts and government sources, documentation published by the platforms themselves (Google, LinkedIn, Meta), then published studies that explain their methodology. Every article lists its sources at the bottom of the page, with a direct link. We avoid figures that get copied from blog to blog with no traceable origin: when a data point has no primary source, the article says so or leaves it out.

Our calculators

Our free calculators are checked against worked test cases before going live (VAT, margin, break-even, loan payments...). The rates they use are the ones in force when they were published, and they are reviewed when the rules change. All calculations run in your browser, with no data collected, as explained in our privacy policy.

Independence

No advertiser decides what goes into an article: the editors have the final say on the text. Content produced in partnership is labeled at the end of the article and follows our editorial policy; the publisher and the director of publication are identified in the legal notice.

Report an error

Spotted something wrong or out of date? Write to the editors from our contact page and include the article's URL. Corrections are made within 7 days and the article's update date is changed.
