Privacy policy

In short

Digiteo sets no advertising cookies and sells no data. Audience measurement is anonymous and cookieless.

Data controller

The data controller is the publisher of the site, identified in the legal notice. This policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For any question about your data, there is a single point of contact: [email protected].

What data, and why?

  • Reading articles: no personal data is requested. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no comment forms.
  • Audience measurement: when enabled, it relies on Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying visitors. That is why no consent banner is needed.
  • Technical logs: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address and browser details for as long as it takes to deliver the page and protect the site against attacks. The editors do not use these logs.
  • Emails to the editors: if you write to [email protected], your address and message are used only to reply to you. They are kept for no more than 3 years after our last exchange, then deleted.

Our calculators

Our free calculators (VAT, margin, break-even, freelance day rate...) run every calculation in your browser. The amounts you enter are never sent, stored or kept from one visit to the next.

Cookies and fonts

The site sets no cookies at all, whether for advertising or analytics. Typefaces are served from the site itself: your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other third-party service to display text.

Links to other sites

Our articles link to sources and sometimes to partners (affiliate links, flagged in the page's code). Once you are on those sites, their own privacy policy applies, including for their cookies. The rules governing these links are set out in our editorial policy.

Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare is a US company. Transfers of technical data to the United States are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which Cloudflare has joined, and by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, object to and restrict the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]: you will get a reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority that oversees the publisher (cnil.fr).
